Griffin James Middleton
My name is Griffin Middleton and I’m a SCAD alumni with a BFA in Architecture along with a minor in Architectural History. I’ve admired architecture since I was a kid. Growing up, I would build complex multi story lego city sets meant for an older audience. I was born in Clearwater, Florida but was raised in Alpharetta, Georgia just north of Atlanta with my mom, dad, and triplet brother and sister.
I’m currently studying at the Savannah College of Art and Design pursuing their graduate program to receive my masters degree of Architecture. I am a member of their IPAL (Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure). I’m also a past board member of the American Institute of Architecture Students, (AIAS) and served as the Professional Development Assistant. In fall of 2022 I had the opportunity to study abroad in Lacoste, France (Provence) for 10 weeks. While there, I traveled to many different cities around Europe learning about beautiful and historical architectural masterpieces.
In my classes at SCAD, we’re required to design many commercial structures, using material learned from classes such as construction technology, structural engineering, physics, and environmental control. A program I have a learned to love is Revit. I’ve learned all the design features it has to offer. I really enjoy rendering floor plans in my free time and messing around with Revit and Illustrator to see all their tools. I also have experience in Rhinoceros paired with Grasshopper and Ladybug, along with skills in Photoshop and Indesign.
